Itinerary Follow the spectacular West MacDonnell Ranges from Alice Springs. Pass the John Flynn memorial before stopping at Simpson's Gap. Continue to Standley Chasm where you can walk into the Chasm to see the effect of the mid morning sun on the sheer cliff face. Travel to Ellery Creek Big Hole before reaching Ormiston Gorge for a picnic lunch. Stop in at Glen Helen homestead wher there is time for an optional Helicopter Flight before taking in magnificent Mount Sonder from the lookout. Travel past the Twin Ghost Gums on the return journey.
